Have you always wondered how advocating for the rights and inclusion of older people actually works within United Nations (UN) system? To provide opportunities for delegates to interact with the IFA’s UN Representatives and learn about the IFA’s role and impact on ageing and older people through the UN system. Join the IFA team at the UN with your lunch and learn more about:
- The role of civil society organizations within the UN system
- The history of the IFA at the UN
- Key international development frameworks including: the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing, the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals, and the WHO Global Strategy and Action Plan
- Modalities of advocacy for ageing and older people at the United Nations The IFA UN representatives will rotate to each table to chat with delegates, covering each of the topics above. Delegates are encouraged to ask questions and provide suggestions for future initiatives within the UN system.
